Learning at GM China is a continuous process. GM China fosters and facilitates this process in all of its employees by providing a comprehensive range of training, education and development programs. Aligning itself with GM’s global Talent and Development strategies, the GM China Talent and Development team also plans, organizes and develops various kinds of talent and development training/programs that combine the Leadership Effectiveness Series and Professional Learning Series.
To encourage Personal & Professional development, GM China supports employees who wish to undertake external courses that are of mutual benefit to the company and employees. Employees may be granted financial assistance and/or study leave to receive accredited qualification at recognized learning institutions.
LMP-China is a program that partners local GM employees in China with senior or more experienced GM employees based in China. The primary objective of this program is to assist local employees’ professional development by providing helpful advice and insight from more seasoned employees.
GM China is committed to creating a healthy and comfortable working environment for employees. The GM Campus has a fitness center that all staff members can use free of charge throughout the week. Among the health care programs, we also provided free yoga classes. In addition, the GM Campus has a company canteen, a coffee shop and a convenience store. This allows employees to get a wide selection of food and beverages, as well as complete meals, at very affordable prices without having to leave the GM Campus.

The GM Women's Council of China (WCC) is made up of volunteers from GM China and GM International. The WCC’s mission is to promote a supportive and encouraging working environment for GM’s female employees in China; establish links with women working in our partner organizations; and maximize the contribution of female employees in building a successful and sustainable business.
JumpStart originally was found in early 2000 in US, then quickly become a GM global organization to engage and retain new hires. The JumpStart China was found in 2009. It is designed to attract and retain new hires and support GM China Workplace of Choice’s. It also provide a great platform for our new employee to expand personal network and practice various skills.
