Battery Test Engineer
General Purpose of Position: Develop and coordinate test plans to support the development and verification of advanced Batteries (focused on Lithium-Ion batteries) for Electric Vehicle. Verify the function and sufficiency of the hardware, software and calibration used in test. Discuss test assignments with customers; develop necessary test fixtures, test methods and procedure; conduct tests; analyze results and generate reports. With the assistance from lab technicians, manage the lab’s daily operation. Major Duties and Responsibilities: ? Conduct battery tests per request from product engineers. ? Analyze test requirements, prepare necessary test fixture, develop testing and measurement methods, develop test procedure, conduct test, track test progress, optimize test controls on need basis, collect data, analyze test results and generate test reports. ? Take part in GM global battery engineering meeting, report test status and results. ? Work with product engineers on battery failure mode and root cause analysis. ? Develop new test methods to support some specific needs. ? Work with Purchasing, and Engineering to identify potential sourcing needs and requirements.
Qualifications: ? University Degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Vehicle Engineering or related Engineering majors ? Proficiency in test procedure codes programming ? Proficiency in test data processing and analysis, proficiency in relevant software and code programming ? Well understand test standards and specifications ? Good oral and written communication skills in Mandarin and English ? Good PC skills Experience: ? 3 or more years’ experience in test execution and lab environment. Experience in battery module& pack test, or electrical/electronic reliability test is preferred ? Experience with hardware setup ? Experience with test data processing and analysis ? Experience in problem investigation and applying sound technical judgment to develop solutions Preferred experiences/Knowledge: ? Knowledge of Electric Vehicle ? Solid mathematic skills and software programming skills ? Experience in Testing and/or Engineering in multinational corporation ? Knowledge on electrochemical devices, particular Li-ion batteries Personal Attributes: ? Independent, self motivated, goal oriented, and persistent ? Diligent, accurate, precise, thorough and highly organized ? Flexible, able to rapidly respond to new situations ? Willing to work beyond normal work hour in case of need (occasionally) ? Willing to conduct and participate in conference calls outside normal work hours
